Dine 909: Save money with these limited

Want to save a little on your next meal? A pair of fast food chains are offering discount meal deals for a limited time.

Inland Empire-based Baker’s Drive-Thru currently has a half-dozen meals available from $5.99 to $7.99.

For $5.99, Budget Meal 1 comes with a bean and cheese burrito and an original taco, while Budget Meal 2 includes a tostada and a bean and cheese burrito.

At $6.99, Budget Meal 3 has a mini quesadilla, original taco and a small french fries and Budget Meal 4 comes with two soft tacos and a small french fries.

For $7.99, Budget Meal 5 includes two bean and cheese burritos and a small french fries, while Budget Meal 6 has three original tacos.

All of Baker’s budget meals include a small fountain drink.

Jack in the Box currently has a pair of “Jack Pack” bargain meals.

Both come with a single taco, curly fries and a value fountain drink.

One also includes a Junior Jumbo Jack Cheeseburger, while the other includes a chicken sandwich.

The cost is $6.

History is repeating itself in north San Bernardino with the opening of a new Popeyes location.

It’s the city’s third Popeyes location and was built right next door to a former Popeyes, now an Albertaco’s Mexican Food.

The restaurant, 3255 W. Little League Drive, is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., with the drive-thru open until midnight.

A new pizzeria has opened in Riverside.

Pizza Twist offers both traditional and Indian-inspired toppings, including chicken tikka masala, palak paneer and halal tandoori.

The pizzeria is in the Riverside Central food hall at 3678 Central Ave., Suite 103.

Hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

Another location is nearing completion at 186 E. Easton St., Suite B, in Rialto.

The monthly Foodie Fridays event returns to Menifee this Friday, Sept. 1.

The event, which runs from April through October on the first Friday of the month, features a variety of food vendors along with other retail vendors and family-friendly entertainment.

The free event takes place from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Mt. San Jacinto College’s Menifee Valley Campus, 28237 La Piedra Road.

Trio in Palm Springs will celebrate 14 years on Thursday, Sept. 7, and its owners have decided it’s time for the restaurant to be “reimagined.”

The restaurant, 707 N. Palm Canyon Drive, is currently closed for an update to the restaurant’s dining room.

The new menu will feature local, seasonal ingredients and will include items meant to be shared with friends and family.

The restaurant’s new website is expected to launch around Tuesday, Sept. 5, offering reservations for the restaurant’s reopening on Friday, Sept. 8.

California Pizza Kitchen has a new Happy Hour from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.

Guests can order a 7″ pizza and a beer (Dogfish Head Citrus Squall) for $6 (with a $2 upcharge for select pizza varieties).

Guests can also receive 50% off all drinks and starters.

The new Happy Hour is available restaurant-wide at participating locations.

Inland Empire locations include Rancho Cucamonga, Riverside, Temecula, Chino Hills and Palm Desert.
